Hunger Fighters Uganda was founded by the alumnae of the course on ``hunger in the 21st century.`` The course which was facilitated by the UN World Food Programme (WFP) and Continuing Agricultural Education Centre (CAEC) at Makerere University.

“The HFVs programme is an initiative started in 2008 at the initiation of the organisation and the founders were the first volunteers whose cardinal mission was to establish an organisation with a strong ideology of voluntarism in tackling hunger and promoting social development.
